Active Rehabilitation

At Cornerstone Kinesiology we take an exercise-based, functional movement approach to physical recovery. This approach helps individuals with injury, physical limitations, or medical condition(s) reach their occupational and/or recreational goals in a safe and progressive manner.  Active rehabilitation treatments are conducted at the YMCA YWCA Westhills. Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE)

At Cornerstone Kinesiology we use FCE to develop a treatment plan, to measure the effectiveness of a rehabilitation program, to modify a treatment plan, to measure loss of ability, to evaluate whether an injured worker can work in a particular occupation, and to determine when he/she can return to work and in what capacity. FCEs are conducted at the client’s place of work. More about Functional Capacity Evaluations…….

Ergonomic Risk Assessment

At Cornerstone Kinesiology we use ergonomic risk assessment to objectively measure of the risk factors in a work environment that may lead to musculoskeletal disorders or injuries among the workforce. The goal of an ergonomic assessment is to identify these risk factors so that the worker or employer can make measurable improvements in the work environment to improve productivity levels. The primary goal of an ergonomic assessment is to create a safer, healthier, less injury-prone workplace and to improve overall workplace wellness. Ergonomic assessments are conducted at the client’s place of work.

When I came in for assessment, I had been to physio, chiro, massage, etc. with no relief of symptoms. I was sure I was in for a bunch of stretching, but it turns out that I need to increase my strength. Great assessment and clear direction in regards to the exercises. Great service!

Randy did a thorough assessment of my functioning and developed an exercise plan to fit my needs. I am grateful to have access to this type of one on one therapy.

I was in MVA in January 2019 and suffered back, shoulder and neck pain as a result from the accident.  I managed my pain with massage and chiropractic therapy and only discovered kinesiology in April 2021. Randy created a program specifically around my needs and the results have been life changing! Randy is very supportive, encouraging and pushes me to achieve goals that increase both my physical and mental well-being.  He created an at-home routine so I can continue my journey of healing. I highly recommend Randy and only wish I had become a client sooner.

Having been injured in an MVA in 2019 I could barely walk without excruciating pain nor get out of a chair.  It took a long time but Randy got me back to full mobility with much lower pain levels.  Randy developed a routine that I can continue at home and at the gym to keep me mobile and have the best quality of life possible.

Under Randy's guidance, I have regained much-needed strength and physical stamina following a MVA. Randy tailors his approach to each client and he is mindful that rehabilitation needs to work with the hustle and bustle of daily life (he created a gym and in-home routine for me to accommodate a busy lifestyle). In addition to his rehabilitative approach, Randy is also kind and motivating which helps his clients to keep pushing toward their goals. I highly recommend Randy to any and all who are seeking help with their physical recovery.

As a stroke survivor I have found Randy a positive and encouraging force that has resulted in slow but steady progress, glad I found him.
